I occasionally like to give the other guys in town another chance. Tonight was one of those nights. Result: Fail one dish came out wrong, twice! Kids dishes came out much later than the adults. Winner: Amigos wins again!

Thank you Yelp and all those who participate. Another home run with Amigos! It is a Monday night and just past the evening rush. Service was good, greeted just after walking in of course no line but the manger not sure came over introduced himself, showed me a seat. Jose my server was friendly and attentive, took my drink order for a frozen margarita, Tasty. He quickly brought chips and salsa a Mexican restaurant staple. Chips are chips as long as they are fresh and they were. Not being a cilantro fan, The salsa was AWSOME just a hint of cilantro and very good flavor and not to much heat. The 3 chimichangas was a home run, the seasoning was just enough to enhance the flavor of beef, chicken and shrimp. I had it with beans. The portion was just right. The price was reasonable too.

I always see this placed packed so my wife and I tried it out. First impressions were great, service was amazing and unfortunately that's all the good I can say. The salsa tasted like pizza sauce straight from the can with peppers and onions added in. Very sweet with a strange after taste. The chips were stale so I can't comment on what they would really taste like. Ordered a chicken chimichanga with rice and beans, my basic dish I eat at any mexican restaurant. The beans were bland and lukewarm with any type of seasoning. And the rice tasted burnt or some crazy after taste I can't identify. The chicken was full of gristle which set the tone for a bad meal. It's shredded chicken with gristle, a first for me. The chimichanga she'll was decent but not mind blowing. I plan on trying this place again in the future, everyone has an off night but I wish I wasn't there when it happened. Back to Panchos I go until I brave this place again. Pros: Service Cons: Food

I don't know what went wrong, but honestly, this past weekend was the worst salsa I have eaten in my life. The beans were cold and would have been better warmed straight from the can. The rice was something that I would not even call Spanish rice. I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD and am so sorry for the huge disappointment. Maybe the kitchen can step up. I will give this place one more try if I am back in the area....but that's it.

Good variety of Mexican dishes. We decided to have dinner here while shopping in the area. There are many choices on the menu. I ordered a combo with a beef enchilada and a taco. I would have preferred for the ground beef to be a little less dry and have a little more seasoning but it was OK. My husband had a dish with mole sauce because he gets excited when a restaurant has something with his favorite Mexican sauce. He was disappointed with the sauce because their version was too salty and wasn't close to any other mole sauce he has had. The service was great and the food came out really fast. The restaurant was very comfortable and it was nice to sit down to dinner after hours of shopping.

Food was bland, chips were cold, beans were I'm not sure quite what, and hair was in the food. It was a busy Saturday night, though. But seemed to be those who couldn't get a seat at Tito's (us included). All in all not a great meal. Nice staff.

Great Mexican food, friendly attentive staff. What more could you ask for. Try the Chefs Tacos. You get chicken, beef and carnitas. Also, if you are a salsa afficianado, ask for the tomitillo salsa, great flavor and just the right amount of heat.

This is standard american mexican food and it's good. I usually get the beef tacos which are well seasoned and always crispy and fresh. The salsa is very mild but good. I'd prefer mine with a little more pep to be great. The service is always good but the wait can be long sometimes in the evening, suppose because this is one of the only restaurants in the area.

We ate here last night (08/26/13) and we found this restaurant via Yelp. Someone from CA really trashed this restaurant and that almost discouraged us until we found that this Yelp reviewer has trashed many Mexican restaurants. Hmmmm! So we decided to try Amigos and all we can say is that some people from have no idea what good Mexican food is or are not that familiar with varieties within Mexican cuisine (e.g. ground beef, also referred to as picadillo is commonly used in Mexican cooking while shredded beef, chicken or pork are also commonplace). We are from Chicago, a city that in globally known for GREAT food from almost any ethnicity or culture imaginable. The Mexican/Hispanic/Spanish food is amazing and we are uber-critical of poor quality food and/or service at restaurants. This is our review of Amigos... Fresh, warm chips and salsa provided immediately upon arrival. The salsa had a wonderfully fresh taste as well as that "slow burn" that we love. Guacamole Mexicana prepared table side - 5 stars and outstanding. And you already have the wonderful, warm chips! My husband had quesedillas which he loved. I had the chicken flautas. They were excellent but maybe a bit overstuffed with chicken but still an exceptional presentation. The servings are HUGE so leftovers are guaranteed. Regrettably we were on vacation so preserving and reheating leftovers was not an option. But what this really showed is that Amigos is a GREAT value for the money! We guess that can't really be a complaint. The food is very good and you should give Amigos a try. The service is attentive from the minute you walk in the door until you leave.

I gave them 1 star because I there is no option for zero stars. Food is ok but the service stinks. Cockroach walking the wall in the entry way (visible from my table). I quess they assume that all gringos like flour tortilla ' s (cause that's what they give u) even though pictures show corn.....if it was a big deal, they should ask. Clearly overated. I recommend those of you rating this anything over 2 stars should get out more.

If you're in Spring Hill already, this is a good solid choice for mexican food. It's my go-to "comfort food" choice for an easy Friday night dinner with the family. It's friendly, it's reliable, I have my favorites (their fajitas offer the largest quantity of food and veggies of any other place I know, and are tasty to boot), it's always busy but never so busy that there is a huge wait, and the prices are right. There are other places I would probably choose for a "destination" meal or some unique menu, but if you're looking for a quality family dinner in Spring Hill, it's hard to go wrong with Amigos.

Hands down, the absolute best Mexican food in Spring Hill, maybe Williamson County. This is consistently a really great place to eat, and is reasonably priced. Move over Pancho's, Amigo's is here to stay.

Why oh why do I continue my futile quest in mid Tennessee for good, authentic Mexican food?? Being from California, I have to admit I'm spoiled with good Mexican food, but c'mon fellow Spring Hillians! This is NOT real Mexican food. Ground beef in everything: okay someone please explain how this happened. There is something called "shredded beef" in the world and it should be used profusely. Beef/pork/etc: it doesn't take much to season them and slow cook them and serve them up in decent sized pieces. Chili Colorado should be nice big chunks of tender beef - not small shriveled up pieces. Quacamole: well holy quacamole! Finally a win! I enjoyed the quac - done well and seasoned right. Tortillas: I so want someone to hand me just one homemade tortilla. How about even a good tortilla? (Sigh) All that being said, I hear there is a good authentic taco place right down the street...I think I will venture there and try my luck once again. I'm sorry Amigos, you just don't do it for me.

Pleasant surprise in Tennessee. Chicken nachos were awesome. Pitcher margaritas can be off and on. I appreciate time to enjoy my meal and it all worked out well

A few months ago I would have given 4 stars. While I enjoy many dishes here, the quality has been gradually slipping. That being said, we love the staff and management, and they serve the best gold margarita in Spring Hill.

My family of six were seated quickly. Service was very prompt and the food was hot and delicious. While we were seated near the kitchen, we weren't disturbed by the kitchen noise. That was a welcome surprise. Peering into the kitchen, from what I saw, everything appeared very clean. We'll return next time we're in the area.

Amigo's is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Spring Hill and probably anywhere else. Noel and his family take great care to make sure you feel welcome and that you're satisfied with the service and food. Fast, inexpensive and delicious, we always look forward to eating here. My absolute favorite is Burritos Ranchero, a large shredded beef burrito topped with veggies, ranchero sauce and two fried eggs. Perfect.

Amigo's is my new go to place for Mexican when I'm in Spring Hill. You cannot go wrong with literally anything on the menu. Great deals on drinks too. Sorry Pancho's, but there's a new amigo in town.

One of the many Mexican restaurants in the Spring Hill area; good food and good service, though nothing that necessarily sets it apart from it's competitors.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
